چکیده

Previous studies have suggested an association between uric acid (UA) and the severity of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), but it is unknown whether UA contributes to disease pathogenesis. The aim this study was determine prognostic value circulating in era current management PAH investigate role vascular remodelling. Serum levels were determined idiopathic, heritable or anorexigen at baseline first re-evaluation French Pulmonary Hypertension Network. We studied protein xanthine oxidase (XO) voltage-driven urate transporter 1 (URATv1) lungs control patients monocrotaline (MCT) Sugen/hypoxia (SuHx) rats. Functional performed using human artery smooth muscle cells (PA-SMCs) two animal models (PH). High serum follow-up, not baseline, associated with a poor prognosis. Both generating enzyme XO URATv1 upregulated wall remodelled arteries idiopathic MCT SuHx concentrations promoted mild increase cell growth PA-SMCs, PA-SMCs. Consistent these observations, oxonic acid-induced hyperuricaemia did aggravate MCT-induced PH Finally, chronic treatment rats benzbromarone mildly attenuated impaired clinical haemodynamic profile might be used as non-invasive indicator prognosis during follow-up. Our findings also indicate that metabolism disturbed walls both experimental PAH.

THE EFFECTS OF CAPTOPRIL ON PULMONARY AND SYS TEMIC ARTERIAL PRESSURES IN HIGHALTITUDE PULMONARY HYPERTENSION

The purpose of this investigation was to assess the effect of captopril on both systemic (P.a) and pulmonary arterial pressures (PPA) in patients with high-altitude pulmonary hypertension (HAPH). Seventeen patients (mean age 44±6.8 years) with HAPH and mild to moderate systemic arterial hypertension were included in the study. All patients underwent right heart catheterization with measurem...

Serum uric Acid as a prognostic predictor in pulmonary arterial hypertension with connective tissue disease.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) has been identified as a life threatening complication of connective tissue disease. However, the association between serum uric acid (UA) levels and long-term outcome in PAH with connective tissue disease has not been evaluated. We therefore assessed whether serum UA levels are related to the mortality of such patients. METHODS AND RESULTS We ...

The Relationship between Serum Uric Acid and Severity of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Introduction: Some evidence exists about the possible relationship between the serum uric acid (UA) and exacerbation of the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Present study intended to compare the COPD-related variables and the one-year outcome between the two groups of patients with the high and low UA. Material and Methods: This cohort study consisted of 112 patients with COPD exac...

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in Thalassemia Major Patients of Ilam, 2014

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a progressive disease with high morbidity and mortality rates. Research has shown that PAH has a prevalence rate of 10-79% in thalassemia major patients. This cross-sectional study was carried out in 2014 to determine the prevalence and risk factors of PAH in all thalassemia major patients of over 18 years of age in Ilam, Iran. A cardiologist measured sy...

The Importance of Electrocardiography in Pediatric Patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in Follow- up

Background: Right Ventricular (RV) hypertrophy is an adaptive response to chronic RV pressure overload in patients with pulmonary hypertension. We investigated the relationships between RV hypertrophy indicators, including electrocardiography, the percentage oxygen saturation (SaO2%), body mass index (BMI), and blood uric acid levels in patients with...
